A Quick Note to the Depressed

A Quick Note to the Depressed

When you’re depressed, you feel weak.

You look around you and everyone else seems to be holding it together so much better than you are.

Let me just encourage you today: you are strong.  It takes a tremendous amount of strength and courage to carry around that darkness and not give up, or to get back up when you do give up.  The effort it takes to get out of bed, to fulfill daily responsibilities, to do millions of stupid little things that feel so meaningless is so much greater for you than it is for other people, and it means so much that you are doing it.  It’s okay to be exhausted.  There’s really nothing harder than trying to believe that light exists when all you see is darkness.

Sometimes you’re just hoping for hope, and that’s okay.

Don’t give up.  You are not alone.  I love you.

Sorry for the short post.  I didn’t have time to write a full blog this week because I had a colonoscopy a few days ago (and that’s a blog post NOBODY’S asking for) and my brother is visiting from Florida.  But these words have been on my heart for a while, so I thought this would be a good time to share them. ❤

What I’m Listening to: Say My Name by Destiny’s Child.  Lol.
